Our Research on the Garmin 5000 portable GPS Suggests: Consumer reviews for the Garmin 5000 are generally high. There are probably a few more negative reviews than we normally see for Garmin nüvi GPS systems, but rather than being for any great failing with the 5000, it was more likely the reviews didn’t realize that this unit is primarily aimed at RV drivers and truckers and other professional drivers. It also offers 3000 waypoints and 10 routes (versus 500 and 0 routes for most other nüvis). Limitations:
Verdict: The Garmin nüvi 5000 may be for you if you want a “vehicle only” GPS with an extra large screen, and can live without Bluetooth. Has every possible feature except Bluetooth. |
